Even though Isaac and Lynnsie are NOT engaged their love is just as evident as if they were! The way they love each other is so rare and inspiring, and they are perfect for each other in so many ways! Lynnsie is sweet, kind and angelic-like in her appearance, as well as her character and voice. Isaac is strong, masculine, and playful! He has an amazing ability to make people laugh, and he also has a fantastic voice and guitar abilities. The compliment each other so well, and just wait till you hear how their voices blend in perfect harmony. I get chills every time I hear them sing together!
I cannot wait to see how their love grows and strengthens as their relationship continues!! They are some of my favorite humans, and they are so near and dear to me and James. We are so thankful to call them friends!
They came to visit Santa Barbara to celebrate their one year anniversary of dating, and James and I couldn’t resist taking photos of their beautiful faces!
Billy and Kelly had a beautiful intimate wedding on a perfect day in January. They are a great example of “when you know, you know.” The first time they met they both knew there was something special, and after just 6 dates Billy asked Kelly to marry him!! After seeing them interact on their engagement shoot, it is clear they are perfect for each other, and they’re so cute together!! James and I had a wonderful time photographing their wedding, and we can’t wait to see the love between them grow and grow!
Always a pleasure to work with DJ Hecktik. He always knows how to keep the party going!
Tim and Jen have a great story of how hey ended up in Santa Barbara. They both lived in Washington DC and Tim was offered a job out in Santa Barbara. He decided to take the job and move to paradise, and he really wanted Jen to move out there with him!! Jen said the only way she would move cross country was if she had a job or an engagement ring….
Well…it wasn’t long before she visited Tim and they went kayaking out off the pier, and he proposed while they were kayaking!!! He even tied the ring to fishing line just in case it slipped. (such a smart move Tim!!)
After the proposal Jen packed up and moved out here to beautiful Santa Barbara and started planning the wedding!
We had such a fun time on the engagement session and we did it right by where Tim proposed! Such a fun shoot, with perfect sunshine and another beautiful winter day in paradise!
One of my favorite questions to ask couples is how they met. Jason and Dana have an amazing story! Dana was a student in Jason’s AP English class in Hong Kong 6 years ago. They had a normal teacher to student relationship, but Dana had such an impact on Jason he wrote a book about her without telling her till years later!! After Dana graduated she contacted Jason because he had been on her heart, and when they met up they talked for hours, and they started a friendship that deepened every time they talked. They would write emails, text, talk on the phone and skype for hours and hours, and they began falling for each other. Jason came out to LA to visit Dana and after a wonderful evening together and a kiss on the beach in Malibu, they were officially a couple. Jason moved out to LA a year later and it wasn’t long before he proposed!!!
I remember Dana telling me about Jason right when they started dating. She said “Jess, he’s the one and I’ll be contacting you in a little bit about our wedding.” She was right, and I am SO glad I got to photograph their wedding! When we did their engagement shoot a few months back, I asked when they first said “I love you” and Jason said the sweetest thing. He said “well I’ve loved her for 6 years, but we told each other a few years back.” Jason has loved Dana for years and it is incredible to see how their love for each other has grown over time. I can’t wait to see their love continue to grow forever!
Words cannot express how much I love these two. They are prefect for each other in every way. Kelly is absolutely stunning from the inside out, she’s an outrageous dancer, a true fashionista, and one of the greatest friends I will ever have! When Brian started coming around I knew there was something special about him, because he was the only man I’ve ever known who could out-quote Kelly on SNL and Kristin Wiig impressions! And to top it off he’s handsome, hilarious and a Fire Fighter! Yes please! Talk about a match made in heaven! Plus the story of how Brian pursued Kelly is mind blowing! He knew exactly what he wanted and he would stop at nothing! They were dating long distance for a year, and Brian bought the ring before Kelly even moved out there! He held onto it for months for 3 months before he proposed, and somehow Kelly’s family kept it a secret from her the entire time! When he did propose, before he pulled out the ring, he pulled out a framed dried flower that he had kept since sophmore year when he asked Kelly to a dance. He said he watched the flower fall out of her hair and he picked it up and kept it in his journal until he was ready to propose! Talk about romantic and thoughtful! It gets me teary eyed every time I think about it! Kelly you’ve got yourself a good one, and Brian is so lucky to have you too! I couldn’t be happier for these two and I am SO excited to photograph their wedding this summer! I already know I am going to cry tears of joy during the ceremony, and I know the dance floor is going to be epic!
Every time I’ve done a photoshoot with Kelly (senior portrait, family, etc.) we always take a few together. So we had to keep with tradition.
The top right is definitely my favorite:
Mike and Meredith are so fun, and their wedding was beautiful! Mike, the groom, made all the bouquets the morning of the wedding AND he surprised the Meredith with a beautiful new wedding ring! She was completely surprised, way to go Mike!! Meredith looked absolutely stunning, and she had TWO wedding dresses, so she switched dresses throughout the day! How fun is that?!?
They are an amazing couple, and have a fun, real, and playful love for each other! Mike and Meredith, it was an honor to photograph your wedding, and James and I wish you the best!
Also, special thanks to Kim of Toast Santa Barbara for helping coordinate the day and make the details look their best!
Brian + Kelly
